Who is Certified Scientific Instruments?
After seeing instrument brokers taking deposits for machines they didn't have, or installing machines without proper testing and certification, Bruce Erickson realized that there was a need for a legitimate company who could provide these services... and more!

Who owns the machines you sell?
We own every machine we sell.

If we purchase a machine from you, what comes with it?
All of the machines we sell come with full recertification documentation.

Are your machines new?
No. Our machines are restored to OEM specifications, and then wet-tested before shipping and installation. We believe our machines are better than new because of our attention to detail during the restoration process. Our wet-test documentation is provided with every instrument.

How are the machines shipped?
The machines are vacuum-packed and specialty crated for transport.

Who installs the machines?
We have in-house OEM-trained engineers who install the machines. They are not third-party contractors... these are long-term employees with years of experience. Our employees are covered by workman's compensation and complete health insurance.

What warranty comes with the machines?
Our machines comes with a 90-day warranty, or one-year service warranty, depending on how you want it quoted. Many companies offer warranties, but don't have the manpower to back them up. We do.

Where are you located?
We are located in Redwood City, near California's Silicon Valley. We have a 5000 sq. ft. facility, with on-site parking and loading. If you are checking out possible competitors, you should GOOGLE Earth their addresses to see if their 'facilities' or 'service depots' are real, or if they are working out of garages. We encourage you to come visit and tour our facilities. We want you to have a sense of security when purchasing from us!

What is your relationship with AME Bioscience?
AME Bioscience is our European counterpart. We have a long-standing, excellent working relationship, through which we can provide quality instruments and services worldwide.

What is your relationship with ABI?
We have no official or un-official connection with Applied Biosystems. However, we have over 50 years of on-site enginering experience working with ABI instruments. We have also assumed the licensing rights to produce what was the ABI 3900. The new machines will be upgraded with XP software, etc. These will be sold exclusively through BioAutomation, in Texas.
